General Organization for Insurance and Pensions

The General Organization for Insurance and Pensions in Syria is the cornerstone of the social protection system for public sector employees. It is a public body with an administrative character, enjoying financial and administrative independence, and is directly linked to the Ministry of Finance.

Establishment: Established by legislative decrees in 1961 to be responsible for the pension system in the country.
Headquarters: Damascus (Port Said Street), with branches covering all Syrian governorates.
 
2. Served Categories (Who Does the Organization Serve?
The organization provides services to specific segments of the public sector, namely:
Civil servants: Subject to the State's Civil Service Law.
Military personnel: Members of the Army, Armed Forces, and Internal Security Forces.
